Hunter Wohler has been an incredible defensive presence for the Wisconsin Badgers for four straight years, and his jump to the NFL is exciting for both him and Badger fans. He will make whichever NFL team that chooses to draft him very happy. His work ethic and drive to be the best will help him earn a spot on a roster and eventually rise in the rankings to find his way into a starting spot.
Wohler had an excellent career for the Badgers, accumulating 229 total tackles, three interceptions, 13 passes defensed, and even a couple of surprise sacks. His best year came as a junior when he racked up 120 of those tackles. While his senior season in 2024 wasn't a disappointment, it was a less statistically productive year for Wohler, and now there's a bigger chip on his shoulder to prove he's NFL-ready.
Hunter Wohler is projected in the fifth or sixth rounds by NFL experts
Wohler is projected as a late-round pick, and because of that, there aren't a ton of mock drafts that go that far down the list. Especially from NFL experts and mock draft specialists. There are currently two different mock drafts that have projected Wohler in them. One is by Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, and the other is by Justin Melo from the same source.
In his latest mock draft, Ryan Fowler has Wohler being drafted in the 5th round by the Tennessee Titans. He had an earlier mock in October where he had Wohler in the same round but drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Justin Melo, in his latest mock draft, has Wohler being drafted in the 6th round by the Chicago Bears. Most Badgers fans would hate to see him don that uniform. However, even if he ends up on the Bears, it will be very exciting and well-deserved for such a fantastic Badger.
