There's a fun rivalry showdown on the way for the Wisconsin Badgers, as the team is making the trip to Iowa City this weekend. The Iowa Hawkeyes are looking to make a statement with a convincing win on Saturday and one player in particular is already adding to the intrigue of things.
That'd be veteran safety Sebastian Castro, one of the leaders on the defensive side of the ball for the Hawkeyes. Castro is known for playing the game with plenty of confidence, while also doing a bit of talking leading up to kickoff.
Such was the case this week leading up to the meeting with Wisconsin. Via an interview with Chad Leistikow of The Des Moines Register, Castro basically encouraged Braedyn Locke and the Wisconsin passing attack to go after him - he's going to be ready for what comes his way.
Sebastian Castro talking smack to Wisconsin should motivate the Badgers for Week 10
"Hopefully Wisconsin comes with an attitude and comes at me. I always like the pressure."Sebastian Castro via Leistikow
We can only imagine this quote is something the Wisconsin players are taking note of. Iowa is feeling pretty confident ahead of this matchup, while the Badgers are hoping to wipe away the bad memories from the recent loss to Penn State, a game it looked like they were going to come out on top of.
Locke made countless headlines following his terrible pick-six against the Nittany Lions. It was a throw he should have never made and he knows he made a back-breaking mistake. Now, his focus has shifted to taking on the Hawkeyes and he needs to impress with the ball in his hands.
The backup signal-caller has shown flashes at times, but his play has been far too inconsistent. He has a great opportunity to silence his haters this weekend against Iowa. He also has a great chance to make Castro eat his words if he can throw the ball all over the field.
