JJ Watt's surprise beer with a fan in NYC reminds Wisconsin fans he's a legend

Former Badger JJ Watt continues to go viral for really cool reasons. Not every fanbase can say their former stars are going viral for good; Wisconsin can. Watt continues to pop up and make Wisconsin proud. Yesterday, it was when he defended his wife, Kealia's honor, and helped elevate women's sports all in one social media post. Today, it's because he decided to get a beer with a fan in New York City.

A random fan was eating breakfast, and he looked over and noticed a giant of a man coming to sit down and eat near him. The fan, Douglas, was too nervous to ask for a picture or an autograph or even say "hey." The moment came and went, but he did decide to post about it. "Not proud of it, man enough to say it...Somebody I idolized growing up watching the NFL. But out of respect (like a scared little girl) I didn't even ask for a picture...Have a great day in NYC, JJ!"

Watt, who's great on social media and is known for being kind to fans, quickly responded, "Are you still in the area?"

Quickly, Douglas responded with yes, and Watt then learned where, asked for a Guinness to be ready when he got there, and boom. Watt made this fan's day. They took pictures together and shared a beer.

The post then went viral. How JJ Watt took time out of his busy schedule in New York City to grab a beer with a fan, after the fan happened to be too scared the first time. It was shared all over the internet. Between all the posts, there have been well over 1 million impressions. The picture JJ took and posted, has more than 28K likes.

That picture in and of itself shows how legendary JJ Watt is, he didn't just let the fan take a picture and post it. He actually took his own picture on his phone to post it. If you didn't know who the two dudes were in the picture that Watt took, you'd think they were either old friends or that Douglas was the celebrity.

Douglas would go on to share more about his story and how incredible it was. He said he had a memory now that he will never forget, and that it was the best day of his life. He was clearly shaken about how it all played out, so he even followed it all up with another funny social media post. He tried the exact same formula of "Not proud of it, man enough to say it. I saw one of my favorite celebrities..." But this time it was Sydney Sweeney. Doug may be a legend in his own right.
