The Badgers are headed to the Bahamas this season in their non-conference schedule. Jon Rothstein posted an in-season huge tournament update for Wisconsin. Greg Gard's squad will be one of four teams invited to the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship. The Badgers will be joined by NC State, Seton Hall, and a team to be announced later.

Get your swimsuit out and start figuring out your PTO because in November you may want to join Wisconsin basketball on the beach in the Bahamas. What more do we know?

Last season, the event was held on November 20 and 21. Four teams were invited to play in two games each. The winner of the first two games played in the championship and the winner of that game took home the trophy. The 2025 champion was a Big Ten team: The Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue was part of a field that featured Memphis, Texas Tech, and Wake Forest.

Last season, the championship field (the invitation that Wisconsin accepted) was the tip-off to a field of 20 games/teams that played in different divisions in a similar format for their own prizes. Teams like Michigan State, Ohio State, and Alabama all took home trophies.

The Badgers were the runners-up in last year's holiday tournament, the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego. It was also a great event that brought in many Wisconsin fans. This season, the pull might even be stronger as the Bahamas in November sounds like a dream.

Further information about the event and even the final team in the four-team field will be announced in the next few months. For now, this is a big scoop and a fun opportunity for the Badgers to add in more quality opponents in a fun/vacation-style way.
