Jon Rothstein may be the biggest current name in college basketball, at least among analysts. He is very public about his love for the game, and he often jokes that it's the only thing that matters. He even went viral right before the College Football National Championship game when he was asked if he was going to watch the game. His reply was in regards to the next time that Ohio State had a basketball game, and he would watch that.
He's been one of the national names that has posted about Wisconsin throughout the season. Most often, it's when Wisconsin gets a win, and he posts a simple message: "Greg Gard. Silent Assassin." However, this week he posted a series of messages on X where he was gushing over Wisconsin.

The Badgers are averaging more PPG and sharing the basketball at a higher clip than they did when they went to back-to-back Final Fours under Bo Ryan. https://t.co/i7yqSLyvAC
The stats are insane, and if you remember the star of those Final Four teams, it was none other than Wisconsin legend Frank Kaminsky III. He saw these posts and posted a reply himself, which said, "This is...very good #Badgers." The hype is building.
Just when we thought maybe Rothstein had moved on, he follows those posts up today with a new gush over Wisconsin and how he's anticipating the game tonight.
How will Wisconsin's offense travel on the road to Maryland?
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) January 29, 2025
Badgers are a whopping 32/67 from three-point range in their last two games.
Terps are coming off back-to-back road wins at Indiana and Illinois.
College Park should be on FIRE.
The Wisconsin Badgers do indeed take on the Maryland Terrapins tonight. This game is at 6 pm and will air on the Big Ten Network. They follow it up with another road game against Northwestern. Both games are quad-1 opportunities for the Badgers. This road stretch will be a major test for the Badgers, who have been up and down away from home. They head into it with a 2-3 record outside the Kohl Center. Tune in tonight.
