Former Wisconsin running back Julius Davis was caught in a wild moment after the Montana State victory over Yale. It appeared as if he was actively trying to fight his head coach and even another player on his team. It was heated, tense, and a really bad look for Davis. In his apology, he said it all started because of a Wisconsin connection.

First, let's look at the initial video if you didn't see it, here it is:

Montana State head coach Brent Vigen went to grab his star running back during the post-game handshakes. Davis immediately became frustrated and began shouting at him and yetting at him, even shoving him off at one point. One of his teammates tried to intervene, and Davis pushed him out of the way, too. It was a wild moment, and he admits that he let himself get out of hand quickly.

However, in his apology, he wants to clear up a misunderstanding. He wasn't over to fight anyone on Yale, as many supposed was the source of Vigen pulling him away. He was on his way to say hey to a former teammate from Wisconsin. Here's his apology:

It's hard to read it all as it's screenshots from his Instagram post. However, it says, "ESPN misconstrued a moment in our previous game; I was not smack-talking the Yale players. I actually was dapping up a former teammate of mine from Wisconsin. I want to sincerely apologize to my teammate and my coach for my actions." He goes on to talk about how he respects his coach and how he shouldn't have let that moment happen.

Davis said he was trying to talk with Marshall Howe, another former Badger, who plays for Yale. As he was in the process of talking with him, he was pulled away. His anger at being interrupted escalated, and the moment became viral.

It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions for Davis going forward or if it will all be worked out in-house. Davis said in the statement that he and his coach had already spoken, but there may be more to the story later. For now, Davis says, it all started because of a missed Wisconsin connection.
