A day after one of the best players in the nation entered the portal, associate head coach Brittany Dildine sent out a social media post that signaled a commitment was coming. Fans immediately thought it was Kennedy Martin from Florida. It wasn't, but the excitement was real. It seemed like the timing was perfect...Wisconsin needs a new opposite hitter with the Grace Lopez injury, and one of the best players in all of volleyball enters?
Fans got excited but it ended up being Allie Andrew from Baylor to commit who's a 6'3" middle blocker from Baylor. While the commitment wasn't who fans thought, Andrew is still an excellent pickup for Kelly Sheffield and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Allie Andrew is a really solid addition for the Wisconsin Badgers as she brings in veteran experience and elite skills in the middle. According to Big10Central, Andrew's stats and starter presence are going to immediately help the Badgers, "Andrew has been a starter at middle for the Bears the past two seasons. She averaged 1.61 kills per set and hit .396 last season while playing in 105 sets. She also averaged 0.98 blocks per set and had 15 service aces as Baylor compiled a 23-8 overall record."
Andrew will be sliding into the starting spot for that middle position, though don't be surprised if redshirt freshman Tosia Serafinowska or true freshman Natalie Wardlow also find their way into that competition and eventually even overtake the position. They are immensely talented but it helps Sheffield to have a veteran for this season.
This addition does not remove the possibility of adding Kennedy Martin, should that come to fruition. There is still room on the roster for another player or two, with the roster sitting at 16 now and the scholarship limit at 18 for D-1 volleyball rosters.
