Kelly Sheffield has done a masterful job of bringing in top-tier players to replace the outgoing losses. Between the transfer portal and the recruiting class, there are seven incoming players. Yet, in a video released by Wisconsin volleyball, Sheffield says something that makes you think he's not done adding to the roster. Which, he really shouldn't be.

It wasn't meant to be a conversation about any more additions; he was actually talking about how important next year will be, and yet it's still a building block year. That he has no players in their final season. The current roster has only players with multiple seasons left to play.

The way he said it, though, was, "As of this moment in time, we don't have a player on their last year of eligibility." It's the "as of this moment in time" that should perk your ears up. For it's clearly a nod to the fact that he's not done. There will be another moment in time before the season starts when a player may be in their final season, but that player is currently not on the roster. Here's the clip:

Wisconsin volleyball really needs a backup libero to round out the roster for next season

The roster looks really good and really complete. It is ready to go into next season and compete. The starting roster and even the rotational depth look perfect, as good as any in the country. Except for one spot: the backup libero.

Right now, Wisconsin and Sheffield only have one rostered libero, Kristen Simon. She was a star last season as a true freshman, and that caused the other liberos behind her to transfer out. Now, there is only Simon left. If there is another addition, you have to assume it will come in the form of a libero.

Sheffield indicates he isn't done, and the roster shows a need, so it's safe to assume the roster isn't yet complete for next season.
