Wisconsin football's top incoming transfer from the winter portal was TE Tanner Koziol. However, Koziol didn't fit and Luke Fickell was not pleased with him at all. Koziol left the program in the spring and entered his name back in the portal as quick as possible for the spring portal. He's now gone and off to the Houston Cougars. He didn't waste any time finding a new home. However, Wisconsin's head coach, Luke Fickell, is also not wasting any time replacing him.
Fickell has already secured a visit for Missouri State TE transfer, Lance Mason.

Wisconsin is getting a transfer visit from Lance Mason of Missouri State
Lance Mason has spent the last three seasons playing at Missouri State, and each season, he has improved and become stronger. He will be entering his senior season, and as the top tight end last season in the FCS, he's picking up numerous high-major offers. According to 24/7 Sports (in the above post), Mason is headed to also visit Oklahoma and Cal.
Mason had 34 receptions for 590 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is also a good blocking tight end, which rumors suggests is the primary reason Koziol ended up not being a great fit. Fickell has strongly voiced his desire for his tight ends to be involved in the run game, emphasizing the importance of being physical and gritty. He's not willing to take a soft tight end or one that refuses to get his pads dirty.
Mason is a big tight end at 6'4 and 240lbs. He's built like an extra lineman but can split out wide and catch passes. This versatility will only help Wisconsin going into next season especially in the Big Ten.
There's a lot to like about Mason's game, and hopefully, Fickell and the coaching staff can lock him in after his visit later this month.
