Wisconsin recruiting is on quite a heater for 2027 and 2028. It was just last week that Luke Fickell added the first recruit of the 2028 class in 4-star linebacker Cale Britt from Florida. This is after Fickell already compiled a top-25 2027 recruiting class. Now, the Badgers are getting another huge update as another top player in the 2028 class is throwing around Wisconsin as a school firmly in the mix. Stay hot!

4-star athlete Logan Thompson is one of the highest-rated recruits in the state of Illinois. He's listed as the fourth-best player in the state and the fourth-best cornerback in the nation according to 24/7 Sports. He's approaching a 5-star composite rating at 0.9788. According to Rivals' Allen Trieu, it's Wisconsin and Missouri who have the best current relationships with the star player. This may truly matter down the stretch as the ceiling only gets raised with another year of high school football for Thompson.

Thompson is considered an athlete by Rivals as he can play both sides of the ball, and as he's only played two seasons of high school football, it's hard to know how the positions will wind up with two more to go. That being said, he's mostly being recruited as a defensive back. At 6'0 and 175 pounds, with a long frame and fast speed, he fits the mold of an outside back. With Robert Steeples as his primary recruiting coach, it seems as if Wisconsin sees him in the same light.

Thompson has a ton of college interest with over 20 offers and 12 visits under his belt (both unofficial and official). He has offers from Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Notre Dame, LSU, Iowa State, and more. Though it seems like Missouri has the most momentum right now, even after what Trieu has said above. The Tigers have received six unofficial visits from the star player.

Trieu also mentioned how Thompson is setting up game-day visits right now and that LSU and Indiana are some of the first to set up these visits. Wisconsin is also working to make this happen for next year.

Thompson doesn't seem to be in a rush to make up his mind, and there are still two years left of recruiting for the young player. He hasn't even hit his junior year of high school football, and yet he's already one of the top players in the country.

There's clearly hope with Thompson and Wisconsin, but even if things spin in another direction, the signs that Fickell has turned around the recruiting are very evident. The fact that the Badgers are in the mix for one of the top players in the 2028 class is a new thing and something that hasn't happened under Fickell. Now, to turn the recruiting into wins, that's the real hope, dream, and goal.
