Luke Fickell just showed everyone why he will never beat another ranked team again

There is no excuse for the Wisconsin Badgers employing Luke Fickell for even one day longer now.

It does not matter. Money can be found, but so can any other person with a pulse to coach this Wisconsin football team. Luke Fickell is not the answer. He has his Badgers riding a three-game losing streak after a 2-0 start. He has started as many different quarterbacks as his team has losses to Power Four competition this year. Somehow, someway, he put forth another coaching catastrophe.

By losing to the Michigan Wolverines 24-10 on Saturday to fall to 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in Big Ten play, there are no excuses to keep this man employed for a day longer. He should have been fired after the toothless showing at home vs. Maryland two weeks ago before the bye. Once again, Fickell completed even more coaching malpractice with his quarterbacks. No wonder he cannot win games.

After giving all of Danny O'Neil the first-team reps this week after getting Billy Edwards Jr. hurt for a second time this season two weeks ago, he went to third-stringer Hunter Simmons hours before kickoff. He was largely ineffective all game long. Wisconsin was able to stay in it because of how well Mike Tressel's defense played for three quarters. The man has the exact opposite of the Midas touch.

Now that he is 0-8 vs. ranked teams since taking over at Wisconsin, why let him have another shot?

Luke Fickell should have coached his last game at Wisconsin already

If there was ever a head coach deserving of a Lane Kiffin tarmac-ing, Fickell has to be right up there. He is utterly clueless at the podium, saying one dumb, contradictory thing after another each and every week. Nobody is buying it any more. His players either have Stockholm Syndrome or have no other options. It might be both, to be honest... Regardless, Wisconsin must rip the band-aid off now.

When you watch a Wisconsin football game these days, expect for the offense to do as close to nothing as humanly possible for 60 minutes once a week. Jeff Grimes may deserve some heat for this, but he is new to Madison. What is so troubling is Fickell continually does not put his team in spots to suceed based on how fickle he is at quarterback evaluations. This is killing this football team!

He loves to give all of the first-team reps to one quarterback during the week, and then have somebody else start the game. No wonder this team starts slowly on offense every single week and twice on Saturdays. Will this team improve if he is let go? Possibly, but the Badgers no longer need to employ a man who thumbscrews everything to oblivion, while second-guessing himself all the time.

There is never the wrong time to do the right thing, but Badgers fans are so out of patience with this.
