Wisconsin may end up adding another defensive line target to its 2026 recruiting class tomorrow. 3-star defensive lineman Anthony Jones is down to two final schools, Oregon and Wisconsin. Jones plans to decide on the late signing day, Wednesday, February 4th. This could be a big addition for Fickell as he puts the finishing bow on the recruiting class, but Dan Lanning for Oregon is also trying to close the deal.

3-star DL Anthony Jones will decide between Oregon and Wisconsin tomorrow

Jones was initially a UCLA commit, but after the coaching staff changed, he withdrew his commitment. Then the new coaching staff worked hard to retain him, and he decided to re-commit to UCLA; however, early signing day came and went, and he wasn't sure. He then decided to reopen his recruitment and turn to other options.
That's when other schools jumped in, and Oregon and Wisconsin rose to the top of the list after his visits. Jones hasn't seemed to tip his hat to either program, and thus neither school has a crystal ball or prediction for Jones.
The 6'4, 285-pound defensive lineman would be a great addition to Wisconsin's 2026 recruiting class. He would join two other defensive linemen in the class: Djidbou Bah and Arthur Scott. Like Jones, both are also 3-star prospects with high ceilings.
While his addition won't make or break the recruiting class, he would immediately become one of the highest-rated recruits in the 2026 class for Luke Fickell. He's listed as a 4-star DL by 24/7 and a 3-star composite. He would slide right to the top of the class for Wisconsin.
Look for news about his decision tomorrow (Wednesday) and quickly after his signing for the February signing date.
