Luke Fickell has inserted Wisconsin into the race for the top-rated tight end in the 2027 recruiting class. Ahmad Hudson is a talented and physical presence on the football field, but he's also a rising basketball star, standing at 6'7 "and weighing 230 pounds. He is listed as a top-20 player in both football and basketball according to 24/7 Sports.

5-star Ahmad Hudson has added a Wisconsin offer for football
Ahmad Hudson has received football offers from all over the country, including some of the top programs in the nation, such as Alabama, Florida, Miami, Oregon, USC, Texas, and many more. He's also picking up quite a few from basketball as his basketball prowess is catching up to his football reputation. However, as of now, he's interested in playing both sports at the next level.
According to 24/7 Sports, "While passionate about his future in football, he's equally passionate about his love of basketball and his desire to play both sports at the next level."
Though right now there are only a few programs recruiting him to play both sports, schools like Nebraska, LSU, and Texas A&M are trying the hardest to get him to play both. That's an evolving conversation as the desire for Hudson's services is high enough to try to compensate for his own desire to play both sports.
As of now, Wisconsin has only offered him in football, and it will be interesting to see if Fickell checked in with Greg Gard about extending him an offer in basketball, too. At 6'7 and still growing he's projected as a power forward at the next level.
Let's finish this with a quote that will have any fanbase excited to land his services and a prayer for Wisconsin fans to find their way into the running for Hudson:
"Talk about a two-way talent, Ahmad Hudson is an absolute freak of an athlete. The nation's top-ranked tight end in football, Hudson is currently ranked No. 18 overall in 247Sports' 2027 football rankings. He's blown us away on the hardwood, too and debuts at No. 20 in the hoops rankings. Standing 6-foot-7 in his socks with a chiseled 240-pound frame and 7-foot wingspan, Hudson's physical tools are nearly unmatched in the class. And he's got a game that matches. Hudson is a high-volume rebounder, plays way above the rim, and brings some serious competitive fire to the floor. Thus far, his recruitment has been full of heavy hitters on the football side, but he deserves to be just as highly recruited in hoops. "Eric Bossi, 24/7 Sports
