Luke Fickell held a press conference today to talk about all the transfer portal additions and the expectations for the Wisconsin football season. In that press conference, he said that Wisconsin was done until the spring portal when more players enter/exit. In reference to the shutting of the door in the winter portal, Fickell said, "I don't know that there's any others that are still possibilities."
However, while that press conference was ongoing, reports surfaced that Wisconsin had contacted a transfer portal offensive lineman from Miami. After the National Championship ended and Miami's season came to a crushing end, Tommy Kinsler IV decided it was time to move to a new school.

Kinsler isn't an unproven lineman; he's appeared in 19 games for the Miami Hurricanes. He's been part of Miami's rotational depth and often finds his way into games. He played in the College Football Playoff, including the semifinal and the National Championship. While he's not the main starter, he was a key part of their depth.
Kinsler may be looking for more playing time as he heads into his redshirt junior season or maybe even a bigger NIL deal. However, the schools that seem to be in the running seem to have more to do with playing time.
Eric Mateos, the Wisconsin offensive line coach, has been known to rebuild offensive lines in the transfer portal and find top-tier starters in that way. Kinsler could be another player that Mateos loves, as he seems to fit the bill of what Mateos is looking for. A mauler that has the ability to play extra positions and can work to the second level in the run game.
It will be interesting to see how much this contact works out for Wisconsin. It seemed as if Fickell didn't see it as a possibility in his press conference, but it's something to keep an eye on.
