The Badgers are facing off against their first Big Ten foe of the season, the Maryland Terrapins. There is uncertainty about which quarterback will be the one under center come Saturday. It could be Billy Edwards Jr., who is recovering from injury, or Danny O'Neil, who's started the last two games. If it's O'Neil, he has a little extra motivation now after defensive lineman Sidney Stewart talked trash about him.
The freshman defensive lineman, who is on a bit of a tear early this season, said that he doesn't know the quarterback's name when asked about Danny O'Neil. He says it is similar to how a dog doesn't know your name when it's chasing you. To throw a little more gas on the fire, he says, "I do wish the best for him."
Sidney Stewart on Wisconsin quarterback Danny O'Neil: "Nameless faceless objects... I really don't even know his name, but I do wish the best for him."

Wisconsin has a lot to prove on Saturday against Maryland

O'Neil has had a bit of a rollercoaster run in the last three games. He was thrust into the Miami (OH) game without notice when Edwards went down. He struggled during that game but ultimately helped the Badgers get the win. He then set the Wisconsin passing yards record for a quarterback's first start in his second game against Middle Tennessee.
At Alabama, though, he struggled again. The offensive line may be to blame for a lot of it, but he was not getting through his reads, making strange decisions with the ball, and just didn't look as sharp as he did in the MTSU game.
This quote may give him the extra motivation he needs to pull out what some have dubbed as a Baker Mayfield-like attitude—the swagger to go and win games.
There is a chance he doesn't get the call. It could end up being Billy Edwards Jr., which, for Billy, would be a battle against his former team. Edwards would have his own motivation for Wisconsin to win if that is the case.
