Mason Posa was one of the best players for the Wisconsin Badgers this season, as a true freshman. His play was incredible in so many ways, and his future is extremely bright for a program long known as LBU. On3.com recently listed him as one of the best true freshmen in the country, and it shouldn't come as a surprise when you see his unforgettable numbers.
The crazy part for Posa is that it wasn't until the middle of the season that he started to get a bump in playing time, so his stat line is fantastic for Wisconsin, but it was from the Oregon game on that he took the leap and showcased his ability going forward. Imagine what he could have done with a full season of starter snap counts.

Against Oregon, Mason Posa had 13 tackles, against Washington, he had 11, and against Indiana, he made 12 tackles. He ended the season with 58 tackles and four sacks. He led the Badgers in tackles, and that was with him only recording a total of eight in the first five games of the season.
He's lightning in a bottle and picked up how to read offenses quickly this season. His sophomore year should be even better as he will get consistent snaps and will have a whole offseason of getting stronger, faster, and learning.
Posa responded to this honor by posting on his social media, "AGTG" which stands for "All Glory To God." It's only up from here for Posa and hopefully Wisconsin.
Posa wasn't the only true freshman linebacker that impressed for Wisconsin this season; fellow linebacker Cooper Catalano was also a machine and came on a little bit late, too. He was the second leading tackler with 56 for the Badgers and had two sacks.
