Max Klesmit is one of the veteran leaders for Greg Gard and the Wisconsin basketball team. He's someone that Wisconsin fans want to root for even when he's struggling. He's been a big topic of conversation lately when his play slumped. However, against the Indiana Hoosiers, he may have quietly had one of his best games of the season.
Klesmit led the team in assists with six. He also had 13 points, which is huge for him. He did it all on 25 minutes. If there is a knock on his game against the Hoosiers, it's that he still hasn't quite found his three-point shot, going 2-6 on the night.
Not sure how this is going to shake out in the end. However, You can feel something magical is happen for this group of young men💯 @BadgerMBB So many good stories of guys persevering thru their college playing careers…just like life. Proud & honored to be close to it💯 https://t.co/WYrpZY8nLG

Rich Klesmit is proud and honored to be close to this magical season for UW
Max's dad, Rich, shared a message on X after the big win about his excitement for what is happening and what is to come. His full message:

Wisconsin fans would agree with Rich, there does seem to be something magical that is happening with this group of players. They were predicted to be 12th in the Big Ten and have a floundering season overall and yet they are one of the top 20 teams in the NET and a top 25 team in the AP. There is still a good chunk of the season in front of them; they are putting together an impressive run.
Max, even in his struggles, has been a big part of it. Gard has said that his senior leadership and energy for the game has helped lift others up. Gard's solution to his shooting woes is "to keep shooting." Which is what we have seen Klesmit do more of lately. He shot a total of 16 shots against Indiana, and hopefully, this will eventually break him out of the slump.
