Wisconsin wrapped up their 92-71 beatdown of Michigan State on Friday night, and the Spartans head coach doled out some advice to Badger fans not long after.
The Badgers knocked off their third top-ten team of the season this season, having taken down Michigan, Illinois and now Michigan State. But despite their success, there's still a large part of the country, and even fans in Wisconsin, that haven't given head coach Greg Gard the credit he deserves. Izzo wants to see that changed.
"I think Greg (Gard) has done a great job here," Izzo said. "I don't think he gets enough credit. He lost a couple tough games early. But he's been as consistent and steady as anybody. I came here to speak last year, and I was so impressed by the people and everything. Appreciate him... I don't think Greg gets enough credit for what he's done. So my word to you guys who are Badgers, appreciate him... They outplayed us in every aspect of the game."
Greg Gard continues to prove his worth with another impressive win

Gard has flown somewhat under the radar on a national level despite great success in the Big Ten. Since taking over the head coaching duties, Gard has racked up a 231-124 record, and has made the NCAA Tournament seven times in ten seasons. And while Wisconsin isn't usually mentioned in the same breath as Michigan or Purdue, Gard has does an incredible job with the Badgers year after year.
As far as the 2025 Badgers go, they've shown they can beat anybody in the country after another dominating performance against a top-ranked foe. Now 18-7 overall, Wisconsin has confidently removed themselves from the bubble conversation, and into one where they'll be a feared team come March.
Wisconsin will take on Ohio State next on Feb. 17. The Badgers won the first matchup with the Buckeyes this season 92-82.
