The Wisconsin Badgers are back in the National Championship for the first time in decades after a big Frozen Four 2-1 victory over North Dakota. After the game, there's one player who got the immediate praise from Wisconsin head coach Mike Hastings: Daniel Hauser, the Wisconsin goalie. He said, "I think our little guy in there stood pretty tall."
Of course, he did. The only goal Hauser allowed was when North Dakota was going for an empty net in the final seconds of the game. Other than that, Hauser wouldn't let anything by him. During the second period alone, it seemed like all the tides were turning toward the Fighting Hawks, but Hauser was a wall in the crease.
Daniel Hauser was absolutely phenomenal to send Wisconsin to the National Championship

He finished the game with 21 total saves, but some of the impressive levels of his saves have been what turn heads. While his saves will impress you, Hastings says that he's like calm waters back there. "He's been like that all season."
There are two saves in particular you need to see. The first one had an attacker falling on top of him as he was able to secure the catch and stop the goal or the rebound. He was falling backward as he was getting tackled, but did not take his eyes off the puck to pull in the save. Check it out:

The second save that deserves a shoutout is one where he got his head in the way just in time to send the puck ricocheting off the crossbar. He was sliding forward to stop an attack, and yet was in the right place at the right time, securing another impressive moment.
