Nyzier Fourqurean's appeal with the NCAA has been expedited due to the timeline of the season. There will now be a trial hearing on Monday, September 29, which is lightning fast for these sorts of things. However, it also makes him ineligible at least until then, and after that point, if the case doesn't go his way. New details about Fourqurean's case are coming to light, and there may be some real optimism that he gets to play this season.

Nyzier Fourqurean seeks an injunction enjoining the NCAA's eligibility rules

If there is a chance for Fourqurean to play this season for the Wisconsin Badgers, it will have to be against Michigan on October 4 at the earliest. Mitch Gilfillan published the new details that have emerged, and it has to do with the case that Fourqurean plans to bring before the court. It's about the NCAA's interference and arbitrary enforcement of rules.

The reason this is important is that the best case that Fourqurean has is the timing of how everything went down. He essentially has been screwed out of a season and even a chance to jump into a professional league due to the timing of everything. And that the NCAA's interference in business and its arbitrary enforcement of rules has created this situation.

This has always been what Luke Fickell has petitioned to the NCAA that there's a human side to things. At this point, Fourqurean isn't trying to change the NCAA or create new rules, but because of how this all went down, he got caught in the arbitrary nature and time lapse of the court system.

At the end of the day, this may not be enough, and it's probably less than a 50% chance he gets to play this year. However, these new details show that Fourqurean, Wisconsin, and the attorneys believe there is a legitimate case that can be made. The injustice against Fourqurean can be rectified with a simple injunction by the NCAA.
