Nick Boyd had a great NBA Combine and really helped elevate his stock for the draft. Yet, he's still not considered a draftable player by most media pundits. He's just on the outside of the second round, which still means an NBA contract is probably in his future. However, there are teams starting to sniff around, wondering if he could be a bit more NBA-ready than the pundits think.
The first team we know of to give Nick Boyd a pre-draft workout is the Charlotte Hornets. According to NBA insider Rod Boone, the Hornets hosted Nick Boyd, Wyatt Fricks, Nate Johnson, and Tre White. An interesting assortment of players, including two guards, a wing, and a center.

Nick Boyd will be able to pursue his NBA career; there's no doubt that a team will sign him to at least an Exhibit 10 deal or a G-League contract. However, Boyd is looking to be picked in the NBA Draft and to prove that he has what it takes to land on an NBA roster.
Charlotte is one of the more exciting teams in the NBA that seems to be surging after drafting Kon Knueppel last season and has LaMelo Ball as their starting point guard. The depth behind Ball, though, is a big question mark right now.
Last season, Coby White was the No. 2 point guard after his draft to Charlotte, and he was a big addition, but he needs a new contract if he's going to stay. Some Hornets sites are projecting that Charlotte is looking for his replacement in the 2026 NBA Draft. Could that be Nick Boyd?
The Hornets are at least sniffing around, and Boyd could find some success in the offense that Charlotte runs. However, don't hold your breath as the Hornets are simply doing their due diligence, and Boyd is going to have more pre-draft workouts (hopefully) as he looks to prove he belongs.
The NBA Draft is at the end of June, and the next few weeks will be full of news that leads up to the big day.
