The Wisconsin Badgers didn't have the storybook ending they were hoping for. The team walked into the NCAA Tournament with momentum from the season, lots of hype around the backcourt, and a point guard with Final Four experience. Now, after a stunning upset by No. 12 High Point, they are headed back to Madison.

After the game, Nick Boyd spoke with reporters about how grateful he was for his one year as a Badger and how he hopes he left an impact. He clearly was stunned by the sudden exit, but he turned his attention towards gratefulness instead of bitterness. A lesson for us all in the defeated moments of life.

He's one of one, and Wisconsin fans are grateful for him. The post he shared on Instagram after will have you fighting off the tears, too. As it's a bummer, we only got one year with Boyd. He said, "God, thank you for all you've done in my life. I know there's more on the other side of hard. Thank you for allowing me to put on this Wisco jersey. It was a fun ride!"

NIck Boyd's Wisconsin story didn't end the way he wanted but he shines gratefulness anyways

For a guy who rides high emotions in the game, talks trash to the opponents, and carries the energy in the building. His humble and grateful demeanor behind the scenes is impressive. Wisconsin fans should feel grateful right back towards him. He put on the Superman cape at times this season and willed the Badgers to multiple victories.

There's a bitter taste in our mouths after leaving the round of 64 game without a victory, but it's not a bitterness towards Boyd. His season was special, more than many thought or imagined. His thankfulness for wearing a Wisconsin jersey should be thrown right back at him for being willing to come and play for the Badgers in the first place.

While we are all curious what the roster will look like next year, take a moment and be thankful for what Boyd brought us this year.
