Former Badger Nigel Hayes-Davis has had a very interesting last month. He went from being on the Phoenix Suns bench to the Milwaukee Bucks to immediately being cut to a bidding war from EuroLeague teams to finally playing his first game back overseas. He also immediately showed why he's a EuroLeague champion in more than one way.
Hayes-Davis signed with the Greek club called Panathinaikos. He had his debut just the other day, and he was showing why he was so coveted by the EuroLeague. Hayes-Davis only played 16 minutes, but in that time got 16 points on 6/12 shooting with 3/7 from three, and added two steals.

That's impressive in his debut as he's still figuring out how he fits and what his role is for Panathinaikos. One of the roles that he held as a Badger and in the EuroLeague was that of a leader. He's showing that immediately for his new team. Leadership is another example of why he's back in the EuroLeague. Not only does he feel more comfortable leading, but the players there also want to listen.
There's a video of him coaching up one of his teammates during his debut game. Helping walk through the defensive position he wants to see. That video has already made some waves (in a good way) for Hayes-Davis. See it below:

Nigel Hayes-Davis is an exceptional basketball player and an even better man. While he is hoping to elevate his team and try to win a EuroLeague championship with his second club, he's also hoping to help elevate the players on his team. That's obvious in the above video, but that's exactly who he was as a Badger and why he may be more cut for the EuroLeague than the NBA, where pride often gets in the way of players coaching up other players.
