The monster showdown between the Wisconsin Badgers and No. 1 Oregon Ducks is something that fans can't wait for. Madison is going to be rocking this weekend and things have only been made more interesting with a pair of four-star recruits making their way to town.

As for the action on the field, Wisconsin is a major underdog for this game and people aren't feeling too optimistic about what might happen at Camp Randall on Saturday night. Despite Wisconsin being at 5-4 on the year, there are still some people backing head man Luke Fickell.

The list includes Oregon head coach Dan Lanning? It does. While speaking to the media, Lanning had glowing things to say about Fickell and the job he's doing with Wisconsin.

Dan Lanning believes in what Luke Fickell is doing for the Wisconsin Badgers

“He’s a great coach," Lanning said via reporter Dillon Graff. "He’s proven that he can develop teams and it speaks to the kind of culture he can create. Things are starting to come together for them at Wisconsin.”

Things have been pretty different for these two squads this season. Oregon is indeed the No. 1 team in the country and the Ducks will head to Madison this weekend with a perfect 10-0 record, highlighted by a heartstopping home win over Ohio State earlier in the campaign.

The Buckeyes have lost back-to-back games to Penn State and Iowa, with the loss to the Hawkeyes being a 42-10 nightmare. The hope is the Badgers can get back on track and keep their long bowl streak alive, but time is running out for Fickell.

The Wisconsin leader is 0-5 against ranked teams and barring a miracle, he'll fall to 0-6 this weekend, with his season record dropping to 5-5. A showdown with Nebraska will follow the game with Oregon, while the season-finale will be against Minnesota. We'll see how things go over the next three weeks, but regardless of how things end, Lanning is ready to back Fickell and the job he's doing.
