After defeating 6-seed Ohio State in round one, the Badgers went on to pull off another upset over 3-seeded Rutgers on Thursday night.
The Badgers beat Ohio State 5-1 and continued their momentum against Rutgers, winning handily by a score of 7-3. The Badgers were powered by First Team All-Big Ten freshman Hilary Blomberg, who drove in 5 RBI's against the Scarlet Knights.
With the score tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Badgers quickly moved ahead with a four run 5th inning and never looked back, becoming the first 11-seed to ever make a Big Ten Semifinal.
The Badgers will now face the 2-seeded Michigan Wolverines on Friday night. Wisconsin has outscored their opponents 12-5 through two games of the tournament, but will need to bring their A-game against Michigan who just enjoyed a 10-0 win in their first game. A win there and the Badgers will stamp their ticket to the championship game, which will be held Saturday against either Indiana or Nebraska.
