Clarence Spears had a decent career at Wisconsin, but compared to other coaches, he is on the lower end of the coaching tree. Spears only had 13 wins in his four seasons as the head coach at Wisconsin. Looking at his other coaching history, Wisconsin was the only school he didn't have a winning record.

Here is a break down of Spears' career during his time at Wisconsin.

  • 1932: 6-1-1, 4-1-1 conference
  • 1933: 2-5-1, 0-5-1 conference
  • 1934: 4-4, 2-3 conference
  • 1935: 1-7, 1-4 conference

Spears had his best season in 1932, he won the most conference games that season as well. After that initial season things went downhill until he was fired at the 1935 season.
