1967-1969. John Coatta. 1. . John Coatta. player. 493. Wisconsin football. . 3-26-1 overall record

John Coatta will go down as one of the worst head coaches in Wisconsin football history so far. Coatta won only three games in three games at Wisconsin, all three coming in his final season with the Badgers. Wisconsin was Coatta's first head coaching opportunity, which he got after being an assistant coach for two seasons.

Here is a look at how Coatta's career at Wisconsin went.

  • 1967: 0-901, 0-6-1 conference
  • 1968: 0-10, 0-7 conference
  • 1969: 3-7, 3-4 conference

Coatta, even though he was finally making headway in his final season, was fired after the 1969 season.
