Will Pauling was one of the leading receivers for the Badgers in 2023. In just his sophomore season, Pauling haled in 74 receptions for 837 yards and six touchdowns. For an offense that leaned so much on the run game, Pauling had great numbers.

The offense probably will not be able to lean on the run game as much in 2024 as it did in 2023. With the changes to the running back and quarterback positions, the Badgers will need a sure-handed receiver and Pauling can easily be that guy for Fickell and new quarterback Tyler Van Dyke.

Pauling is also important because he brings a veteran presence to the offense that will desperately need it, especially with a new quarterback.
