Kelvin Sampson is coming off a Coach of the Year win after his first season in the Big 12 and not only having a record year but knocking the Kansas Jayhawks off their throne and winning the regular season title. The Cougars came just short of the Bgi 12 Tournament title, losing in the championship game to Iowa State.

Sampson has been very successful at Houston in his first year in the Big 12 and while he was in the American Athletic Conference. However, he has been successful at other schools as well. His coaching record at Oklahoma was stellar where he went to the NCAA Tournament nine out of the 10 years he coached there.

His stint at Indiana was short, but it led him to Houston where he was able to build a powerhouse program in a small conference. Sampson would be a huge hire for Wisconsin with his record of success and ability to play well in the NCAA Tournament.
