The Badgers have added their first transfer of 2024 with Central Arkansas guard Camren Hunter announcing his commitment.

Hunter sat out last season due to injury, but was a very productive player in 2022 averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game in 2022. The 6'3" guard figures to slide in at point guard along with incoming freshman Daniel Freitag. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Hunter talked to Badger Notes about his commitment saying, "I chose Wisconsin because how can you not want to play for a historical winning program? It’s a beautiful place, and the staff has strong ties to the program."

Wisconsin has a rough couple of weeks this offseason, losing seven players to the portal. Coach Greg Gard has come under fire throughout the month, but now has made his first big splash in the portal. Hunter is a significant piece now added to the Badgers roster, which was lacking a veteran backcourt presence.

Time will tell if the Badgers can land some other recruits. Both Umass' Matt Cross and Morehead State's Mark Freeman have official visits.
