Greg Gard and Badger basketball have received a commitment for 2026 recruit LaTrevion Fenderson out of Racine, Wisconsin.
The 6-4 wing chose the Badgers of other offers from UW-Milwaukee, Iowa State and Southern Utah. He was originally set to be a part of the 2025 class, but has now reclassified to the 2026 class. Fenderson averaged 21.7 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game as a junior last season.
“I chose Wisconsin because of the commitment they showed to me," Fenderson told On3. "This summer, coach Gard and staff came to almost every tournament I had to watch me play. I have received numerous of calls and text from coach Gard, assistant coaches and fans. Numerous fans have expressed how important and special it would be for me to stay home and play for the home team. There wasn’t anything that Wisconsin had to prove to me. I wanted to prove to them that I was worthy of the offer that I received from them. Coach Gard sold me on the responsibility of playing for your home state and also showed me how I would fit into the new system.”
Along with Will Garlock of Middleton, Zach Kinziger of De Pere and now Fenderson in 2026, Gard and company have done a nice job of keeping hometown talent in state. Fenderson will be a nice start to the 2026 class and his three-star prospect status could easily jump up to four-star after another impressive season.
