It's week two and the Badgers have revealed a new depth chart before their game against South Dakota on September 7th. After a rocky and uneven performance against Western Michigan in week one, some things needed to change. So what does the new depth chart tell us about the coaches' plan moving forward?

At running back, Tawee Walker and Chez Mellusi are now listed as co-starters, something that most media had predicted would happen eventually. This gives Cade Yacamelli, who had some spark plays in the opener, the outright backup role.

The rest of the offense remains essentially the same except for Haakon Anderson finding himself moving up into the wide receiver rotation. Hopefully slot receiver Trech Kekahuna, who had three catches on just 13 snaps, can continue to carve out a role.

The defensive rotation will remain identical on paper, but some backups could start earning more playing time. At corner, it was freshman Xavier Lucas with the play of the night against Western Michigan as he snagged a one-handed interception. The defensive line will also continue to run with a deep rotation to try and fill the void left by James Thompson Jr. Interestingly, transfer Brandon Lane who reportedly had a strong camp, has yet to break into the two-deep depth charts.

Lastly, on special teams, Trech Kekahuna and Vinny Anthony are now listed as the kick and punt returners respectively after Tyrell Henry initially got the nod in the opener.

Overall, the depth chart didn't see very much change in the days since the Badgers' first game, but hopefully schematically the staff will make some adjustments by the time Alabama rolls into town on the 14th.
