Essegian Announces Commitment and a Crystal Ball Prediction for Hepburn

Connor Essegian and Chucky Hepburn are two of seven Badgers to enter their names into the transfer portal and both are quickly finding new homes.

Essegian, after visiting Maryland, Indiana and others, announced his commitment to Nebraska via X. Essegian had a solid freshman campaign for Wisconsin, but seemingly fell out of favor during his sophomore year. After averaging 27 minutes and 11 points per game in year one, his role was dramatically reduced to 7 minutes and 3 points per game in year two. It seemed like a transfer announcement was imminent and now he'll take his talents to Nebraska and a familiar Big Ten foe.

Hepburn, a three year starter and beloved Badger, also announced his intentions to transfer. It caught a lot of fans off guard and was somewhat of a final straw for fans' patience with Greg Gard. Chucky's departure also probably closed the door on Wisconsin landing potential transfer Frankie Fidler, his high school teammate. Hepburn hasn't announced his intentions, but he has picked up a Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports to commit to Louisville.

While the Badgers still reportedly remain active in recruiting in the portal, they have yet to receive any commitments.
