The rookie is already showing why he belongs.

Former Badger running back Braelon Allen saw his first NFL action on Saturday as the New York Jets took on the Washington Commanders. He wasted no time showing NFL fans his trademark physicality, something Badger fans have watched for years.

On a 16-yard rush in the second quarter, Allen absolutely leveled safety Percy Butler of the Commanders.

Allen finished the day with six carries for 54 yards, the most of any runner for either team. His longest run of the day, a 24-yard scamper, helped him on his way to 9.0 yards per carry average for the rookie.

Allen has gotten a lot of hype during camp and a lot of that was proved true today. He's done well to cement himself in the backup position behind starter Breece Hall. But it will be hard for the Jets to keep 'Agent Zero' off of the field if he keeps running like this.

The Jets first game of the season is against the San Fransisco 49ers on September 9th, where Allen will presumably see his first real carries of his young NFL career.
