The Badgers won again in week two in a rocky performance against South Dakota. How did all the position groups fare ahead of a matchup with Alabama next Saturday?

Quarterback: B (Last week: D)

Tyler Van Dyke was much improved this week. His accuracy, total yards and yards per attempt all saw a boost. Overall the offense just looked smoother. There's still room for improvement though, as Alabama is a whole other animal.

Running Back: B- (Last week: C+)

Cade Yacamelli, who filled in for an injured Tawee Walker was the hero of this story. He averaged 9.1 yards per carry and injected some energy into the offense. Chez Mellusi wasn't as effective on the ground, although he did find the endzone twice.

Wide Receiver: C+ (Last week: C)

The Badgers coaches didn't really utilize Trech Kekahuna much after an impressive debut, but the receiving group was still solid as a whole. C.J. Williams led the way with 53 yards and his first ever collegiate touchdown.

Tight End: D- (Last week: B-)

The tight ends really disappeared in this game. Neither Riley Nowakowski or Tucker Ashcraft registered a catch, and they didn't inspire much in the run game either.

Offensive Line: B- (Last week: C+)

The offensive line was strong in the run game, letting the backs run wild for 171 yards. They did still allow two sacks and three tackles for loss, however, numbers that Alabama could double if Wisconsin isn't careful.

Defensive Line: C+ (Last week: D)

While still allowing way too much on the ground against an FCS program, Curt Neal and Elijah Hills did have solid performances. It'll be a work in progress all year as the coaching staff tries to find a rotation that works.

Linebackers: C (Last week: C+)

Tackett Curtis filled in admirably for an ejected Jake Chaney, but the outside linebackers are still no where to be found. The transfer duo of Leon Lowery Jr. and John Pius have yet to register a sack. The edges need to start generating more pressure or this will be a long season for the secondary.

Secondary: B+ (Last week: A)

The secondary was very good again this week, only allowing 114 yards passing. The big issue is the lack of turnovers. The Badgers didn't have an interception this week after only getting one against Western Michigan.
