Predicting Player Stats for 2024-2025 Badger Basketball

Badger basktball will look very different this season. With the departures of AJ Storr and Chucky Hepburn among others, the team will have to look elsewhere for production. So what might stats looks like for the 2024-25 Badgers?

PG Camren Hunter

2023: Did not play

2024 Prediction: 14.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 3.4 APG

The incoming transfer from Central Arkansas didn't play in 2023 due to injury but will get a good opportunity to start for the Badgers this year. True freshman Daniel Freitag will definitely push him for minutes though. If Hunter can average close to what he did in the ASUN (17ppg/5rpg/4apg) in the Big Ten, it will be more than enough for Wisconsin fans.

SG Max Klesmit

2023: 9.9 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 1.9 APG

2024 Prediction: 8.8 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 1.1 APG

Call it a hunch but I think we start to see a lot more of John Blackwell this season, which in turn, could eat into Klesmit's minutes. Still as solid as ever though, Klesmit will be relied upon for timely shooting and good defense, even if his overall numbers take a dip.

SF John Tonje

2023: 2.6 PPG, 0.9 RPG, 0.4 APG

2024 Prediction: 15.1 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 1.8 APG

After hardly playing last season at Missouri, Tonje will be motivated to end his career with a bang at Wisconsin. Tonje is big, physical and can shoot. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he is the best player on the floor this season for the Badgers.

PF Xavier Amos

2023: 13.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.2 APG

2024 Prediction: 11.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 0.8 APG

The third transfer to start for the Badgers this season, Amos is another big shooter who can also defend. He dropped 26 points on Northwestern last season so I don't think we have to wonder if the Northern Illinois transfer can play in the Big Ten.

C Steven Crowl

2023: 11.2 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.1 APG

2024 Prediction: 12.2 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 2.0 APG

Crowl will play big minutes at the five this season and I think because of that, should see a bit of an uptick in his numbers.

Backup PG Daniel Freitag

2023: High School

2024 Prediction: 5.7 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 1.8 APG

Unless he surprises and wins the starting role, which would not at all be a bad thing, Freitag will learn the ropes playing maybe 12-15 minutes per game this season as a freshman.

Backup SG/SF John Blackwell

2023: 8.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 0.6 APG

2024 Prediction: 9.5 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 0.7 APG

With Conner Essegian out of the picture, I think there's a world where Blackwell is a true sixth man and plays 20-24 minutes per game. He should backup both the two and three positions.
