Maryland lost a big part of their offense with the departure of Taulia Tagovailoa. Instead of promoting a young guy, the Terrapins chose to turn to the transfer portal for their next starting quarterback and landed on M.J. Morris, who was the backup at NC State last season.
Morris showed promise at NC State even as a freshman, but only had 719 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore, with five interceptions and only a 55.8 completion percentage. Morris may be able to step it up in his third year and be the guy people saw his freshman year, especially with the potential he possesses.
