Way-too-early Big Ten quarterback rankings: Can Tyler Van Dyke elevate the Badgers?

Luke Altmeyer is the only returning you will see for the rest of this article until you get to Penn State's starter Drew Allar. It took time for Altmeyer to come to form in 2023 struggling with turnovers and bad protection, but by the end of the season, he was better than he started.

Even with turnovers, Altmeyer threw for 1,883 yards and 13 touchdowns, but that was coupled with 10 interceptions, four of them against Penn State early in the season. He did show a strong ability to run however with 282 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. When he had time, Altmeyer looked good with a 75.1 completion percentage, so if the offensive line can have a clean pocket, that could make all the difference for this offense.
