Wisconsin Badgers miss out on 2025 WR Muizz Tounkara to Arizona
At the end of May, Muizz Tounkara was favored to go to the Wisconsin Badgers. He had a great visit to Madison and listed the Badgers as a finalist, along with the Kansas Jayhawks and the Arizona Wildcats. Everything was shaping up for another commitment to Luke Fickell’s squad.
Tounkara’s official visit to Tucson on June 14th changed his mind, as the Wildcats became the favorites to land the Texas high school athlete. On Saturday, Tounkara committed to Arizona and is their fourth 2025 WR commit under new head coach Brent Brennan.
Former Arizona Wildcat and NFL wide receiver Bobby Wade was Tounkara’s main recruiter. The Wildcats’ first-year wide receiver coach created a relationship with Tounkara that grew over time. That relationship, as well as his visit, were the two major factors in Tounkara’s decision to choose Arizona over Wisconsin and Kansas.
"As soon as I stepped on campus I already could feel that this was the place for me. The love they showed me and my family and the opportunity that is there for me there made it an easy decision."

According to 247 Sports, Muizz Tounkara ranks as the 92nd-best player in Texas and the 86th-best wide receiver in the nation in the class of 2025. Tounkara would have joined wide receiver Eugene Hilton Jr., and Cameron Miller had he committed to Wisconsin.
The Badgers still possess a top-25 recruiting class for 2025, headlined by four-star linebacker Mason Posa and four-star linemen Logan Powell and Hardy Watts. There are also three prospects the Badgers are targeting.
Byron Louis a running back from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Kade Pietrzak, a defensive lineman from West Fargo High School in North Dakota, both have Wisconsin as a finalist. Kamren Flowers, a wide receiver from West Bloomfield High School in Michigan, has Wisconsin as his top team right now.
