Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke exited early in the Badgers' game against Alabama after an awkward tackle on the sideline. Van Dyke was running for a first down on the team's first drive and was tackled while headed out of bounds. He looked to be in extreme pain immediately after the play as the training staff rushed to his side.
The quarterback struggled to keep his balance after getting to the Badgers' sideline and was eventually carted to the locker room with an apparent knee injury. There's a fear it could be a serious injury, but at this time we are still waiting on an official word. Van Dyke is questionable to return.
Backup Braedyn Locke, who spent much of the offseason splitting reps with Van Dyke, is now in at quarterback. He also came in for several games in 2023 after an injury to then starter Tanner Mordecai.
