Best transfer in: A.J. Turner, RB
Worst transfer out: Phillip Daniels, OT

Minnesota gets ranked this high in the list purely because they didn't lose that many guys. They only had 18 players jump in the portal but were able to add 21, and all of those guys are players who should be starters or rotational players. That's a good jump for a team that's looking to take another leap in the Big Ten this year.

Best transfer in: DT Sheffield, WR
Worst transfer out: Ja'Elyne Matthews, OT

Rutgers, like Minnesota, did an excellent job of retention. The Scarlet Knights even did better than Minnesota in the sense that they only gained top players; they didn't lose them. According to On3.com, they added three 4-star players while only losing one (though according to 24/7, that player isn't even a 4-star).

Best transfer in: Nico Iamaleava, QB
Worst transfer out: J.Michael Sturdivant, WR

I don't love ranking the Bruins this high on the transfer portal rankings because it really depends on Nico Iamaleava and what happens there. If he can play like he did at Tennessee and leave the off-field drama behind him, it's going to be a fantastic pickup. If he brings it, they may be at the bottom of this list quickly. The rest of their additions are a group of lackluster pickups. It's hard to like the Bruins in the portal without Iamaleava.

Best transfer in: Justice Haynes, RB
Worst transfer out: Dominick Giudice, OG

The Wolverines didn't make a whole lot of additions in the portal, but what they did add were high-impact players. They lost players out of their depth but added players at the top end, which is what the Wolverines need to do to chase down the top of the Big Ten.

Best transfer in: Max Klare, TE
Worst transfer out: Air Noland, QB

Similar to Michigan, the Buckeyes lost players on their depth chart and upgraded in the places of starters. This is hard to do in the transfer portal era, but teams like Ohio State with a winning pedigree find it easier than most. The Buckeyes added two different offensive tackles that will give them the juice they need in the trenches. These may have actually been their best additions, even if Klare is rated higher.

Best transfer in: Fernando Mendoza, QB
Worst transfer out: Donaven McCulley, WR

The Hoosiers owned the transfer portal this offseason. Getting a starting quarterback is impressive enough, but getting other high-quality starters without losing anyone hurts. Head coach Curt Cignetti is working his tail off to make sure 2025 is a chance to take the title in the Big Ten.

Best transfer in: Isaiah World, OT
Worst transfer out: Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, QB

Rivals of the Oregon Ducks will not be surprised to see the Ducks in first on this list but would be quick to tell you, "They are always offseason champions but can't convert it to real championships." The Ducks did it again, though, getting the best player in the portal, Isaiah World, and adding a few other high-impact players. Their biggest loss was a backup, maybe even a third-string quarterback, who was ready to start, so he decided to go to Cal and compete for that chance.
