The Wisconsin Badgers have seen three players enter the spring portal so far: Mark Hamper, Tanner Koziol, and Quincy Burroughs. Only one of those three has actually been a Wisconsin Badger. Hamper and Koziol are what many refer to as " double-transfers," meaning they transfer in and out of a team without ever playing for them. They transferred in during the winter portal and are already leaving in the spring portal, which may be where Luke Fickell's rant about players being soft came from.
Quincy Burroughs, on the other hand, has been a Badger for a couple of seasons but has decided that there may be more opportunity for him elsewhere. This prompted some of his Badger teammates to send him sad farewells. One of those send-offs was from star CB Ricardo Hallman.
Mannnnnnnnn!!😔 Love you brudda you the one go do your thing! 🙏🏾❤️ https://t.co/nYxv6K1PWS

Ricardo Hallman is sad to see Burroughs go but understands why
It's clear in his message to Burroughs that he is sad about seeing his friend and teammate leave, but he ends with a "do your thing, " which indicates that he also understands why Burroughs is moving on. Burroughs said in his own message, "I feel it's in my best interest to enter my name in the Transfer Portal."
There is a lot of depth at WR, and Burroughs may have sensed he wasn't going to get as many opportunities in the passing game as he wanted in his third season with Wisconsin. It also could be a change in offensive philosophy as Luke Fickell has hired a new offensive coordinator, Jeff Grimes. Or maybe he truly just wants to see what else is out there.
Aaaand like 10 minutes after I post this Burroughs enters the portal. Point still stands, maybe? #Badgers https://t.co/1v3f6UGH6R

The spring transfer portal opened today, so we may see more coming and going from the Wisconsin Badgers, as it's truly the nature of the game nowadays. However, it's hardest on the teammates who see their friend move on to a new city and a new college.
