The Wisconsin women's basketball team has locked up its first commitment for 2027 in Anna Miller. A great in-state grab for Robin Pingeton, as Miller is considered the second-best player in the state in the 2027 class and the top point guard. It also continues to show that Pingeton is prioritizing keeping the best players in the state home.

Wisconsin adds top in-state point guard Anna Miller for 2027 recruiting class

Anna Miller is another example of Pingeton's effort to make sure the top talent stays at home and plays in Madison. Even though Pingeton started late to the 2026 class, she was able to find a way to recruit Adaline Sheplee to play for the Badgers. And then turn around and retain Giselle Janowski, a recruit who committed under former coach Marisa Moseley.

To top it all off, she was also able to get Leah Nordin to make a pledge for the Badgers. That's three of the top five in-state players in the 2026 class. She's now starting in on the 2027 class by convincing Anna Miller to come to Madison.

Miller is a scoring point guard who knows how to make her own shot but also distribute around the court. She's known for her aggressive defense and her outside shot. While she still has another year to develop, one recruiting analyst referred to her as a "BUCKET." Translation: she can shoot the basketball really well.

Pingeton was able to get her before the nation really started to come around to how talented she is. She only held two other public offers: Milwaukee and Illinois State. However, joining the Wisconsin Lakers will lift her profile as she competes against some of the best teams in the state. It will be important for Pingeton to keep her locked up and encourage her to recruit others to the Badgers.
