Former Badger Russell Wilson has bounced around the NFL the last few years. He spent 10 years playing in Seattle, winning one Super Bowl with the Seahawks. He then landed in Denver for a couple of seasons, followed by a short stint in Pittsburgh and finally the New York Giants. He lost the starting job to Jaxson Dart after a few weeks. He's now looking for another opportunity.
This time, though, it may be in the booth according to BadgerWire. It seems as if his NFL career may be coming to a close as he is reportedly exploring a contract with CBS to replace Matt Ryan on The NFL Today. This would be a big pivot out of football but still football-adjacent.

Wilson could conceivably keep playing in the NFL, but a starting spot wouldn't be guaranteed. He recently had a workout with the New York Jets. If he were willing to work out a league minimum deal, there wouldn't be a shortage of teams lined up for him. However, a pivot outside of football and into the booth may be a better option for him.
The NFL Today is a pre-game show on CBS with studio analysts. Matt Ryan spent last season as one of the top analysts and household names. However, this offseason, Ryan took a job as the Atlanta Falcons' president of football. Now, CBS has a void to fill, and often, they are looking for former top quarterbacks with household-name quality.
Wilson would fit that bill. Wilson also had prided himself with his ability to handle interviews over the years. While certain fans would say that he's come across as robotic, he knew how to play his role. When asked to breakdown film or dig into the details, he may be unparalled.
For Wisconsin, it would be a good former alumni promotion and hopefully Wilson would do a good job of reminding people about the Badgers.
