The 3 biggest questions facing Luke Fickell and Wisconsin ahead of Big Ten Media Days

With Big Ten Media Days quickly approaching, Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell will be the target of some tough questions that still need answering. Poor play, de-commitments, and figuring out a new scheme will certainly be on the minds of Badger fans. So what are the three big questions Fickell could face next week at the podium?

1. What happens now with the loss of CB Nyzier Fourqurean?

After starting the corner, Fourqurean was ruled ineligible for 2025. Wisconsin will now be tasked with finding his replacement. Fickell and Fourqurean both had long emphasized their confidence that the talented defensive back would return, but now it's back to square one. The most obvious answer is to promote a player currently on the roster, but could Fickell head to the portal to find another starting cornerback? We'll find out soon enough.

2. Will the 2026 recruiting class pick up some momentum after a rough summer?

With the recent de-commitment of safety Zachary Taylor, the 2026 class is looking a little depleted. According to 247Sports, the class is ranked 58th in the nation and just 15th in the Big Ten, a far cry from Fickell's typical standards. With other potential de-commitments looming, does the staff have any secrets still up their sleeves? If so, it's time to pull out all the stops to save this recruiting class.

3. How is the new offense coming along?

Some of the biggest and most welcome news this spring was the addition of offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and his physical scheme. It's something Badgers fans have been begging for since about one second after the Air Raid was introduced. Excitement is certainly building, but with any new offense, coordinator, and quarterback come hurdles and hiccups. Will this offense be ready to hit the ground running, or will it fall flat in a brutal 2025 schedule?
