Wisconsin football fall camp has revealed a lot of the depth chart and helped make sense of some of the transfers coming in to compete for spots. There's still a lot to figure out, and literally every position group has an open competition right now, in one way or another; however, there are four that we are paying attention to.
These four seem to be the most 'up for grabs' and the most pivotal in many ways to the roster. The offensive line has seemed to settle with a clear group at the No. 1s. The 2s have a bit more of a battle happening, especially at the guard spot.
Boundary Corner
The corner back room is close to being complete for the starters. Javan Robinson is the clear No. 1 with Bryce West in the slot. That means the No. 2 spot, aka the boundary corner, is the big battle, and it's for a starting spot. The battle, according to Mason Posa, is between Jai'mier Scott, Cai Bates, and Eric Fletcher.
Scott was a 4-star recruit and then redshirted last season. He is asserting himself as the most likely player to emerge as the winner of this battle, but don't count out Bates, who was also a 4-star recruit and transferred from Florida State. Or even Fletcher, who played a good chunk for Oklahoma State last year.
'Bell cow' Running back
While fans are assuming this is Abu Sama III, Wisconsin running back coach Jayden Everett says he hasn't determined who the "bell cow" will be. In fact, Darrion Dupree has a real shot at this, with Sama being a big change-of-pace back. The Badgers plan to run out three to four running backs and may change up who is running point depending on the situation.
Yet, Everett's comments are clear: he wants one guy he can trust in any and every situation and can throw that player into each game without concern. This competition is still going, and Dupree and Sama are both getting first-team reps.
WR1
The competition that has captured a lot of Wisconsin fans is what's happening in the wide receiver room. It seems like Chris Brooks Jr. has really emerged as a different player this season, and he carries himself as the No. 1 wideout. Yet, Eugene Hilton Jr. is also showcasing his skills at the spot. Jaylon Domingeaux is right there in the mix too.
You may be wondering about Tyrell Henry? He seems to be settled into the slot and will be working a lot from there, it appears.
The whole room is full of competition, and really nothing is fully settled, which is probably why fans have latched onto it. Even Malachi Coleman has had his day, with others forcing themselves into the conversation too.

Of course, what would this competition post be without the battle for quarterback 2? Deuce Adams was brought in to be the No. 2 quarterback behind Colton Joseph, and yet it appears as if Ryan Hopkins has taken the job. The true freshman continues to turn heads and get people curious about his potential. He's still a work in progress, but he's light years ahead of where 3-star true freshmen usually are at this point.
