The opening betting odds for Wisconsin vs Oregon should embarrass Luke Fickell

Wisconsin hasn't scored a point in two straight games and now gets to take on the No. 7-ranked Oregon Ducks. A high-power scoring offense and a pretty aggressive and ruthless defense. It is set up to be another brutal day for the Badgers. Vegas agrees with that as FanDuel reports the opening spread is 34.5 in favor of the Ducks. That is a historic number for the Badgers; they haven't had opening odds this bad in decades.

Wisconsin Badgers are 34.5 underdogs to the Oregon Ducks

The Badgers were 28.5-point underdogs to Ohio State and lost 34-0. Some of that lower spread was due to being at home and Ohio State not being as dangerous an offense and more of a stifling defense. Now, they go on the road to Autzen Stadium and have to face a high-powered offense that is averaging 44.1 points a game. The highest in the Big Ten, Power 4, and second in all of FBS.

The over/under is set at 45.5, which means that Vegas is essentially predicting Wisconsin to score around 6 points. If you combine the spread with the over/under, it will tell you the approximate score prediction.

For this match, it's opening at 40-6 for the Oregon Ducks. That should embarrass and frustrate Luke Fickell. However, it doesn't seem like it will, while he says he's disappointed after these losses to Maryland, Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio State, nothing changes. It's the same ol' same ol' for Fickell.

Will this be the final nail in the coffin for Fickell? Some have suspected that letting Fickell get whopped by Ohio State and Oregon before putting in an interim would be the smart play, especially with a bye-week before the next game. That makes some sense, but it doesn't seem like Chris McIntosh is working at all to show him the door.
