The end of the Wisconsin vs. Indiana game was decided by the Big Ten officials. There's just no way around it, and while you could make an argument for Boyd's call, even if it's ridiculous that he was driving away from the basket and Indiana was clearly trying to foul. The call on John Blackwell was as terrible as any foul call can get. Blackwell did everything right, did not make contact, and Wilkerson tripped. The whistle then gave Wilkerson a chance to win the game.
The replay was shown and it's as bad as you would think, watch it again below and you make the call:
This is textbook defense. Walls him up, beats him to the spot, hands up, and the guy falls over and gets the call pic.twitter.com/WCVFaGfPdl

John Blackwell was whistled for one of the worst foul calls in all of college basketball

You can see from the video above, that Blackwell, does not reach in, does not lean, slap him on the wrist, nothing. Literally just makes Wilkerson try to go around him, Wilkerson could not, trips and that sent him to the line. Stolen game for the Badgers.
The reaction by fans and media was immediate. Sam Dekker was calling for Greg Gard to go nuclear; fans were in clear disgust. There's no way even Indiana fans can enjoy that the game was handed to them at the end. Especially because now they have to hear from all Big Ten fans that excuse forever.
After the game, even the Fox commentators called those two calls pivotal and shouldn't have happened. The Blackwell call was clearly wrong, and now Wisconsin will have another loss on its resume when it didn't deserve it.
Sure, don't get yourself in a place where a game has to be decided by refs, but sometimes that's just how the game goes, and the official's job is to make sure it's called fairly. They missed the mark on this one. Big time.
