The Utah Jazz are going back to the Wisconsin Badger well. They recently signed John Tonje to a two-way contract, and after seeing what Steven Crowl offered in summer league, they are signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp. This is big news for the former Badger, and Crowl continues to be a player to watch with the Jazz.

Exhibit 10 deals are non-guaranteed and usually don't result in a roster spot. For training camps, they are often extra bodies for defense and training. It makes sense for the Jazz to bring Crowl in for this, as he now has experience in their system from the NBA Summer League.

While this deal will most likely mean that he will be cut when the rosters need to be trimmed ahead of the NBA season, it's another sign that he's closer to the NBA than maybe many assume. This is now the second Jazz contract he has signed, and they continue to bring him around for more time in their program.

A two-way deal for Crowl would be better for the future of his NBA career. These Exhibit 10 and training camp contracts will enable him to continue improving and showcasing his abilities. There is hope that Crowl will be able to make an NBA G-League and work towards a future in the NBA.

For now, there's a lot of hope in the fact that the Jazz like Crowl's potential enough to keep bringing him around and not chasing after other potential flyers. He's the big man they like to see, and his work ethic, ability to learn the system, and desire to compete have kept them listening.

For now, he may simply be a training camp body, but it's the promise for the future that's exciting for the former Wisconsin Badger.
