The first Wisconsin vs. Rutgers injury report of the week just dropped, and some notable names are included on both sides of the ball. It's a game that already has a lot at stake for both teams, as Wisconsin is trying to rebound from a shutout loss to Iowa last week, and Rutgers is trying to find some semblance of a season.
Yet, as Rutgers comes to town, there's a lot already on the injury report that should be concerning for Scarlet Knight fans. There are five notable names on the Rutgers report, and some are new additions for the Scarlet Knights, while Wisconsin has one shocking new name that could put their offensive line depth at risk. Let's dive in.

Wisconsin Injury Report
Out:
CB #3 Cai Bates
TE #82 Emmert Bork
Doubtful:
RB #15 Nate Palmer
OL #55 Kevin Heywood
OL #70 Barrett Nelson
Obviously, the big news on the Wisconsin side is the doubtful status of Kevin Heywood. That would be a significant loss to an offensive line that is already juggling some injuries. With Austin Kawecki in a cast and unable to snap the ball, he's had to move to guard.
There's also the loss of Barrett Nelson over the last couple of weeks, and now he's doubtful again. This has created a real shuffle of linemen, and losing another is going to stretch the room pretty thin and dip into some players who have yet to get any meaningful snaps.
However, the losses on the side of Rutgers may be more significant. The Scarlet Knights have already ruled out their starting quarterback, Dylan Lonergan, who missed last game against Michigan too. The drop-off to AJ Surace for Rutgers cost them the chance to beat Michigan. He was terrible. Surace went 3/10 for 123 yards and a touchdown. He has a very inflated line, though, because of a catch Jourdin Houston made for 80 yards and a score. Without that, he went 2/9 for 43 yards.
They will also be missing their top offensive lineman, Kobe Asamoah. This is significant for Rutgers, as he's their starting right guard and one of the few true NFL prospects on the team. Add in the fact that Tyler Needham is doubtful (the starting left tackle), and Rutgers is in a worse place with their offensive line than Wisconsin is.
The Scarlet Knights may also be without their top wide receiver, KJ Duff, who's listed as doubtful, too. He leads Rutgers in catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns (and it's not even close on any of those stats).
It truly is an injury report that has a ton of bombshells, and each team will submit a couple more this week before the game, and it will be interesting to see how each designates those doubtful players as the game gets closer and closer.
